Ways How Writing Can Heal
Writing is something that can mean differently to different people. Some think writing can be an escape. To some, writing can serve some purpose in their lives. There are people who write for a living or just part of their passion. Writing is the single biggest thing that helped shape the course of world history. Writing has the power of command thanks to the imperative sentence. With writing, we are able to keep tabs on our inventions, ideas, emotions and even records. Humanity and the way we think has been shaped by writing. But we don’t really take notice how writing can be a way to heal oneself.
Stress has become a by word in our modern living. Every day, we are subjected to the stress and challenges of life and these things are something we have to deal with. We never realize how writing can a way for us to cope better with life. Our troubled minds get us to where we want to go as we write. Trouble seems to disappear as soon as we write. Let us find out how writing can be a great way to heal oneself.
When people are stressed, the mind is not in top form. Our lives are meaningless and aimless when we are stressed. We may be in a situation we want to catch lighting in a bottle. This is where writing can be a healing tool. As we write we make ourselves stronger and able to do things that are out of the ordinary. Writing is a way for us to make things better. It allows us to put order in the midst of chaos. It is a way to put meaning in meaningless world. Writing is a way to make sense of a senseless world.
The fact is we are not aware how awkward or horrible our writing can be. Like when we write a poem or a prose that is full imperative sentence of rusty nails of pain. There are times we are fixated too much on our grammar. Just keep on writing and we become calmer and it helps make our minds steadier. When we write we get to a state of calmer being. As we focus on what we want to write on a blank page, we are in a state of meditation as we write what we have in our minds. To some, it is called being “in the zone.” It is a sweetspot where we are able to create things that can sweep us off our feet.
Stress can kill. Writing can heal us.
To make sense, writing can help. Make it a point to use writing to heal.
